Born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, Joanne DiMaggio, MA, CHt, is a successful author, lecturer, regression therapist and teacher of Soul Writing, a written form of meditation. She has been actively involved with the A.R.E. since 1987. In 1990, she became one of the founding members of the A.R.E. Heartland Region, headquartered in Chicago and was responsible for its public relations, newsletter, and special event programming. She has been the Coordinator for Edgar Cayce's A.R.E. Charlottesville since August 2008 and in 2009 formed a partnership between A.R.E. and Unity Church in Charlottesville to co-sponsor programs centering on Edgar Cayce's work.
Joanne earned her Masters in Transpersonal Studies degree through Atlantic University in Virginia Beach, VA in May 2010. Her culminating project (thesis) was on inspirational writing and served as the basis of her book, "Soul Writing: Conversing With Your Higher Self." She also earned her Spiritual Mentor certification through Atlantic University. She was named Atlantic University's Outstanding Graduate of the year and she formed and was president of Atlantic University's Alumni Association where she served for over two years.
Joanne has given talks on the subject of soul writing to A.R.E. groups in Chicago, IL; Austin, TX; Milwaukee, WI; Durham, NC; the Washington DC area; and throughout Virginia. She has mentored month-long eGroups on various forms of soul writing, and she has been the guest on numerous nation-wide radio programs.
Joanne has been professionally pursuing past-life research and therapy for over 25 years. She is a graduate of the Eastern Institute of Hypnotherapy and was a long-time member of the International Association for Regression Research and Therapies, Inc. She currently holds a membership in the National Association of Transpersonal Hypnotherapists and the International Association for Near Death Studies. Joanne completed additional training in hypnosis at the College of DuPage in Glen Ellyn, IL and studied under Dr. Irene Hickman, a pioneer in the field of non-directive hypnotherapy. The years she spent as the head of her own past life research center enabled her to interact with some of the leading past life therapists, authors and other renowned practitioners from across the country.
Her first esoteric book, "Soul Writing: Conversing With Your Higher Self" was published in 2011 by Olde Souls Press. Its sequel, "Your Soul Remembers: Accessing Your Past Lives Through Soul Writing" was published in 2013. She is currently working on a third book, "Karma Can Be a Real Pain: Past Life Clues to Current Life Maladies."
