"There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you."
—Maya Angelou

My first book, Charlottesville: A Contemporary Portrait, was published in March 2002. This 160-page book contains full color photographs showcasing the city of Charlottesville and the surrounding communities and natural wonders. The city's history and its heritage, its people and its cultural diversity, its neighborhoods, arts and entertainment, special events, places of interest, and inspiring natural landscape are illustrated throughout with breathtaking color images. The book also contains a section devoted to local businesses, hospitals, universities, and other organizations that collectively illustrate the city's role as a regional commercial, educational, and recreational hub.

My feature articles have been published in Southern Families magazine; Charlottesville House & Home magazine; The Next50 magazine; The Real Estate Weekly; Flavor magazine; Images of Charlottesville magazine; Albemarle Family magazine; Nelson County Life magazine; The Daily Progress newspaper; The Commercial Real Estate Exchange; the Daily Herald and The Journal newspaper chains; The Chicago Tribune; The Chicago Parent; Careers & The Handicapped magazine; Ideas at Work magazine; Texas Billiard News; Photo District News; and Intuitive Explorations.

My years as a journalist have enabled me to perfect my interviewing skills; to know how to ask the kind of questions that put my subjects at ease so they feel as though they're having a casual conversation with a friend. In doing so, I'm able to discover the intriguing aspects of their story and translate that into informative and inspiring copy.

And that makes for good reading.
